Creative Energy Increases Digital & Video Capability with New Hires

Karen Jenkins

(Johnson City, Tenn.)

Creative Energy, the region’s largest locally owned advertising, marketing and public relations firm, has increased its staff to better serve clients, specifically in the digital space that includes websites, online advertising and video production.

“I’m always excited to hire and develop local talent, but we are also attracting very experienced, capable employees from larger cities who may be tired of the rat race but still want to work with nationally recognized clients,” said Company President Tony Treadway. “These latest hires are a bit of both.”

The new hires include:

Nate Hook—Digital Media Director

Originally from Lake Jackson, Texas, and a graduate of SAA Design School, Nate began his career in the music industry working for Pearl Drums in Nashville, Tenn. After nearly a decade at Pearl, and with numerous industry awards under his belt, Nate moved on to direct creative work inside a boutique branding agency, as well as direct digital work for marketing teams in large corporations around the country.

As Digital Media Director for Creative Energy, Nate works with clients across the practice in the areas of user experience, digital strategy, mobile and web. Nate coordinates with others within and outside the agency on content, art, and programming for websites, e-marketing, apps and video.

Nate, who lives with his wife Rupa and their pack of furry kids, also plays the Celtic bodhran and recently cut his first album of traditional Irish and Scottish music with his band, The Jacobites.

Robert King—Video Producer

A Johnson City native and graduate of University School, Robert holds a B.S. degree in Digital Media from ETSU. Robert expands Creative Energy’s photography and video production capabilities including shooting, editing and utilizing drone footage for clients.

Robert loves the area and is an outdoors enthusiast who enjoys spending most of his free time exploring the Appalachian Mountains.

Kristen Wilhoit

—Graphic Designer

Hailing from Greeneville, Tenn., Kristen holds a BFA in Graphic Design from ETSU.

Kristen expands the agency’s design capabilities as it continues to increase its client base. In addition to working at Creative Energy, Kristen is active in the community through volunteerism.
