Not Just a Creative Factory. We’re a Talent Machine.

Tony Treadway

Another American Advertising Federation awards (ADDY) night led to another sack full of trophies for our clients. That’s what ad agencies do. But, there is a bigger story here.

We’re 23 years into a journey that began with a handful of local talent with a mission that was easy to understand: “We will measure our success by the success of our clients.” Yet there is a byproduct of that success. Our agency is giving homegrown talent the chance to work on major creative projects for big-name brands while staying right here.

Neither Johnson City, Tennessee, nor Asheville, North Carolina, may be on the list of cities where ad agencies flourish. But we love the fact that we work for big-city clients who value our ideas more than our address. That gives us a chance to grab the best creative talent grown here and keeping them here. The carrot on the stick for recruiting them is the chance to work on big accounts that are inside our region and across the country.

We feel that it’s a duty to look for talent in our region. We take a carefully chosen employee and let them contribute to meaningful work early and often. Almost without exception the ones we choose excel and love their work. A token of that love is the respect they earn by having their work chosen for an ADDY. A better indication is the success their work creates for the client.

We thank some great teachers at local high schools, then colleges and universities to bestow the skills of a graphic designer, a digital genius or a marketing machine. But it’s the young employee who brings the fire in their belly to work hard on every project assigned to them and to do great work.

We have a wonderful team that has embraced our mission and our ethic of work. I’m proud that we support our schools and our community by taking mostly local talent and giving them a place to create exceptional work and stay home to do it. Congratulations to our clients and our employees for keeping the energy in our creative.
